Construction is nearing completion on the South Tuggeranong Health Centre, with funding in this year’s ACT budget going towards the new services the centre will offer.

The appointment-based services will include pathology collection, diabetes clinics, and chronic disease management.

The government say the project is expected to be finished in October this year, with services to begin soon after.

Minister for Health, Rachel Stephen-Smith, says the funding ensures South Tuggeranong Health Centre will be staffed and operational as quickly as possible.

“The services at this centre will reflect the needs of a growing community, with a focus on prevention, early intervention and managing chronic conditions.”

The South Tuggeranong Health Centre is the first of four new health centres being delivered across the territory.
