The ACT Greens are preparing a motion in the legislative assembly, calling on the Labor government to stand up to their federal counterparts over cuts to the NDIS.

Greens MLA Laura Nuttall will move the motion in a bid to ensure foundational supports are fully funded, after the Federal Government cut $37 billion dollars from the scheme.

The new eligibility rules will see 241,000 participants cut from scheme in four years, with Ms Nuttal saying the motion further calls on ACT ministers to publicly oppose proposed legislation which would allow the federal NDIS Minister to unilaterally make cuts to funding without state or territory approval.

It will be debated in the assembly on Wednesday.
