Canberra charity Kidsafe ACT has written to the Chief Minister, calling for electrical upgrades at community centres across Canberra.

They say the lack of charging infrastructure is a major financial burden on community organisations.

Kidsafe, which operate from the Pearce Community Centre, argue the old electrical infrastructure does not have the capacity to charge electric vehicles, which has a negative impact on organisations with EV’s as they need to charge off-site.

In the letter, the charity have requested the ACT Government commit to undertake appropriate scoping works at ACT owned community facilities, and provide a timeline for when the electrical upgrades will take place.
