A 51 year old man will face court today after he allegedly fatally stabbed his mother yesterday morning in O’Connor.

About 8:45am yesterday, police and emergency services were called to a house on Dryandra Street in O’Connor following reports a man had allegedly stabbed his 79-year-old mother with a knife.

ACT Ambulance Service paramedics treated the woman at the scene for critical injuries before transporting her to hospital. Sadly, she was declared deceased during transportation.

Another man, who was also a resident of the home, was transported to hospital for injuries he sustained during the incident.

The 51-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was charged with murder while receiving treatment at hospital.

The man’s father was also injured during the incident and was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
