ACT Policing has welcomed 18 new recruits to the force.

At a ceremony attended by family, friends, police leadership and instructing staff, four women and 14 men officially joined the ACT Police Force.

The new recruits, aged between 20 and 38 years old, previously worked in a range of industries like education, corrections, animal regulation, public service, retail and hospitality before starting their training at the AFP College.

Dr Marisa Paterson, the Minister for Police, Fire and Emergency Services welcomed the newest members of the force.

“Being sworn in marks the beginning of a significant public service responsibility. These 18 new constables are now entrusted with the safety and wellbeing of our community and will contribute directly to frontline policing across the ACT,” Dr Paterson said.
