An 18 year old man and two 17 year old boys from NSW will face ACT courts today after a serious arson incident in Giralang on Friday.

Emergency services were called to a house fire in Giralang around 11.10 on Friday morning, with the two female residents of the home alleging two men entered with jerry-cans of fuel, poured the fuel throughout the home, before setting it alight.

Multiple police resources responded, with officers and intelligence staff quickly able to establish via witness reports and CCTV review, that the two males allegedly responsible for the fire had fled the area in a silver Audi sedan driven by a third male.

The car was traced to the Federal and Hume Highways, where police found fuel-soaked clothing items that matched clothing worn by the alleged offenders, lighters and face coverings.

The three male occupants were subsequently arrested and faced courts in NSW on Saturday for extradition to the ACT.

Investigations into this matter are continuing with additional or upgraded charges possible.

The Giralang residence has been the target of previous arson incidents and enquiries in relation to any linkages between these incidents are occurring.
