Joseph McGrail-Bateup, is being remembered as a local legend, following his death on Friday.

Mr McGrail-Bateup was known in the region as Canberra’s honorary town crier, adopting the title “Lord Joseph”.

In June, Joseph recorded the loudest shout ever recorded by an individual, with his attempt coming in at 122.4 decibels.

This was his second Guinness World Record, after recording the fastest time to shoot 10 arrows into a target, back in 2019.

Joseph passed away suddenly at home on Friday aged 58, and is survived by his daughter Audrey.
