The Canberra Brave and the Johannessen Foundation are calling on Canberrans to help make a difference for local children in need, launching the inaugural Teddy Bear Toss at the AIS arena this Sunday.

The event will take place during the Brave’s home clash against the Sydney Bears, with fans encouraged to bring a new teddy bear to the game to throw onto the ice when the Brave score their first home goal of the night.

All teddy bears collected on Sunday will be donated to Barnardos Canberra, Roundabout Canberra and the Canberra Hospital Foundation, supporting children in foster care, families experiencing hardship and young patients receiving treatment at Canberra Hospital

Canberra Brave CEO Stephen Campbell said the club was proud to use its platform to
support local children and families.

“Our fans have always embraced opportunities to support the community and we’re excited
to bring the Teddy Bear Toss tradition to Canberra for the very first time.”
