More than 10,000 ACT households have installed a home batter system through the federal government’s Cheaper Home Batteries program.

The Special Envoy for Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience Kate Thwaites and Member for Canberra Alicia Payne marked the milestone at an event this morning (September 18) in Watson.

The electorate of Fenner topped the list of the most home batteries installed with just over 4,000, coming in front of the Canberra and Bean electorates.

Ms Payne said all of the batteries installed equals over 280,000 kilowatt hours of capacity.
