A number of long-term residents of the Pacific Suites Hotel have been forced to search for new places to live at short notice.

The residents were caught off-guard earlier this month after being told the hotel had been selected as a quarantine facility.

They were given the option of either remaining at the hotel or finding alternative accommodation.

120 Australian citizens arrived in Canberra on Thursday and are now in quarantine at the hotel.
