Families with children in public schools are being urged to plan ahead this Friday, due to planned industrial action.

All ACT public schools will be closed from 8:30am to 10:30am on Friday, with no onsite supervision available for students during this time, as a majority of ACT public school staff are participating in a work stoppage.

The school day will begin at 10:30am on Friday.

Transport Canberra have announced that dedicated school bus services will not be cancelled and will operate as normal on Friday, including Supported School Transport services for specialist schools and eligible students.

However, families are being encouraged to consider using the regular bus network to arrive closer the new bell time, to ensure students are not left unsupervised.
