22 ACT Emergency personnel have been deployed to the United States today to support communities affected by ongoing wildfires.

An entire strike team made up of Emergency Personnel, from the ACT Rural Fire Service, ACT State Emergency Service and ACT Parks and Conservation Service will head to Idaho before joining wildfire operations in the north-western United States.

The team includes 4 personnel providing incident management support, and 18 firefighters undertaking frontline firefighting duties.

This is the third international deployment to support the US and Canada this year.

ACTRFS Chief Officer, Rohan Scott, has thanked the volunteers for their work.
