The Australian Public Service will adopt a new workplace plan that will involve flexible working arrangements to try and attract skilled workers away from the private sector.

Last year, tens of thousands of bureaucrats worked from home at the height of the pandemic.

Skill shortages were identified across a range of areas including digital and data roles, human resources and transactional finance.
