ACT struggling to meet aged care standards

A new report by the Federal Government has found the ACT has the worst record in the country for meeting aged care standards.

Only 43 per cent of territory centres audited in 2019-20 met clinical standards for personal and clinical care, while just 57 per cent met the prerequisite for services and support for daily living.

Council on the Ageing ACT says the results are alarming, but not surprising.

Chief Executive Jenny Mobbs says significant improvements are needed, given Canberra’s ageing population.
