The ACT Greens have hit out at Labor for their relationship with consulting firms.

Greens MLA Andrew Braddock has revealed that the Big 4 consulting firms continue to rake in millions in contracts, with the ACT Government spending over $12.3 million last financial year, compared to approximately $4 million in the two previous financial years.

“Rather than reducing their dependence on these firms, ACT Labor has rewarded their bad behaviour by tripling their spending on Big 4 consultancy contracts” Mr Braddock Said.

“Has ACT Labor learnt anything from the successive scandals at PwC and KPMG? These firms have failed to demonstrate accountability and ethical standards.”

KPMG is set to be once again hauled in front of a federal inquiry over allegations of misusing confidential client data, while PMC has been shown to misuse confidential government tax policy information for commercial gain.

In the wake of these scandals, ACT Labor has paused new contracts with KPMG, but Mr Braddock says their overreliance on the Big 4 remains on full display.
