A 10 unit public housing property on Lowanna Street in Braddon has sat idle for five years, with the Opposition calling on the government to get the property operational again.
Nearly 200 people are on a priority list to get a home here in the Territory.
Shadow Housing Minister Mark Parton says the government isn’t do enough for Canberra’s most vulnerable.
Opposition Leader Elizabeth Lee says Canberrans should be asking questions of the government.
“Why have allowed this type of situation to continue for five years when we know there are thousands of Canberrans in need of desperate housing?” Lee said.
Lee labelled the fact the property had sat vacant for five years ‘an absolute disgrace’.
