The Australian Education Union ACT Branch says staff will now consider their next steps.

The Union’s Branch President Angela Burroughs told The Canberra Times, an initial assessment of the first offer didn’t do enough to fix staffing and workload issues.

The Times reports the offer included a 9 per cent increase to salaries over three years, with an extra pay rise for those at the top of the classroom pay scale.

The union’s branch council is meeting this afternoon to consider the offer, and determine next steps for staff and school assistants.

Canberra’s teachers called a full-day strike back in June, forcing schools to close.
