A 39-year-old Lyneham man subject to parole conditions will face court today after a police pursuit through Canberra early yesterday morning.

About 3:40am yesterday, police in Ngunnawal saw a car with registration plates that had previously been reported stolen.

Officers tried to stop the car, however the driver continued driving through a number of suburbs across Canberra’s north.

It’s alleged the driver committed a range of traffic offences during the incident, including failing to stop for police, driving through red traffic lights and driving on the wrong side of the road.

The vehicle eventually travelled into the City before coming to a stop near the intersection of Alinga Street and Northbourne Avenue about 4:15am.

The sole occupant of the vehicle, the 39-year-old male driver, was arrested.
