A 20-year-old man has been charged with five offences after a hidden camera was located in a shared bathroom.

Police were called to a residential facility in north Canberra after a resident and staff found a device allegedly hidden inside a soap dispenser.

A person of interest was identified after engagement with some residents of the facility and its operators, with search warrants executed.

Electronic devices and the individuals vehicle were searched, with multiple items seized.

A large volume of imagery was found on a memory card, and the man was subsequently arrested and charged with five counts of intimate observations/capturing visual data.
