Liberal Member for Ginninderra Peter Cain has accused the ACT Labor Government of kicking the can down the road at the abandoned Hawker Tennis Centre, after Planning Minister Chris Steel confirmed the leaseholder has been given yet another extension.

The centre has been abandoned for over a decade, with multiple plans put forward to reuse the land that have never been fulfilled.

Mr Cain says the government promised there would be an urgent development application for the site in February, but that hasn’t happened.
