A driver has allegedly left the scene of a crash after colliding with a 10 year old child riding a bicycle.

On Monday the child was riding the bicycle on Macfarland Burnett Avenue in Macgregor.

The child suffered serious but non life threatening injuries, a blue 2001 Ford Falcon left the scene before Police arrived.

The Falcon has since been recovered and impounded.

Witnesses reported the vehicle having a large dent in the bonnet and cracked front spoiler.
