Construction continues to progress on schedule for light rail services from the city to Commonwealth Park expected to begin operating in early 2028.

Recent work on extending light rail includes the installation of rail across the intersection of London Circuit and Commonwealth Avenue, and the installation of the final canopy at the Commonwealth Park and City South stops.

New accessible pedestrian verges on London Circuit in front of the Sydney and Melbourne buildings are also now open for use.

Infrastructure Canberra says the reopening of the verges will make it easier to move through the city and provide more access to business in the area.
