Construction has finished on the new Woden public transport interchange, the latest milestone in the regeneration of the Woden Town Centre.

The new interchange sees modern shelters, and improved amenities like enhanced lighting, public toilet facilities and drinking facilities installed.

The previous 50 year old interchange was demolished to make way for the Woden CIT Campus.

The temporary interchange on the Matilda Street carpark will remain in place while services transition to the new facility.

The new Woden interchange will continue to receive Rapid bus services from Tuggeranong and from Belconnen via the City Interchange and Civic, along with local services operating across the Woden Valley, Weston Creek, Molonglo and Tuggeranong.

No bus timing changes are required due to the move between the temporary and new interchange.

Testing and commissioning works will now begin before the Woden interchange begins operations on April 20.
