From this month, Canberrans who hold a variety of centrelink payments will receive an increase, pending a reassessment.
For the most part, those across the A.C.T. on the aged pension, Carer Payment, Rent assist, jobseeker, Abstudy or the disability support pension, will receive a financial boost with support payments being raised to keep up with inflation.
It’s all subject to reassessment, tailored with the recipient, with indexed payments being twice a year.
Social Services Minister Amanda Rishworth says they were designed to help those who need assistance, to meet cost-of-living pressures.
