Crews have been called to a house fire in Hughes.

The alarm was raised after 11 this-morning (Monday 5 May) at the property along Birdwood street.

The fire caused a huge plume of smoke to billow into the sky.

Paramedics as well as five fire crews attended the blaze,  which is believed to have started in the back room of the property.

Officials say no-one was home at the time of the fire.
