An ACT senator wants the Albanese Government to fund upgrades to the Canberra to Sydney rail line, as the Federal Government prepares to spend 230-million dollars on high speed rail between Newcastle and Sydney

David Pocock says Canberra has a similar population to Newcastle and the 4-and-a-half hour trip on the train to Sydney isn’t good enough.

Mr Pocock says he would like to see the trip slashed to around 90-minutes.
