ACT Policing executed a search warrant on a vehicle yesterday, seizing two firearms, a 12 gauge shotgun and a .44 calibre rifle as well as a quantity of shotgun shells.

The warrant was carried out after Police received reports from members of the public about a suspicious vehicle at the location.

Police found the vehicle with the man sleeping in the drivers seat with the engine running, officers also observing an unsecured rifle inside the vehicle.

The man who was currently on a good behavior order was arrested.

He’ll face court later this week on a number of charges including: unauthorised possession of a firearm, failing to comply with storage requirements and possessing ammunition generally.
