ACT GPs Forced to Payback Telehealth Funds

A number of GP’s around the ACT have been forced to pay back funds to the Federal Government after failing to meet strict guide lines for telehealth consultations.

The Medicare benefits can’t be paid unless a patient has seen a GP at the same clinic face to face in the last 12 months.

Dr Charlotte Hespe from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners says says it’s a service that should be made permanent.
