Almost five thousand people have been released from quarantine in the ACT – with Greater Brisbane no longer listed as a coronavirus hotspot.

Residents and non-residents who had been in the Queensland capital since the 2nd of January have been free to leave quarantine since 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon.

Non-ACT residents who have recently been in Sydney, Wollongong or the Central Coast are still banned from entering the territory unless they have an exemption.

Health officials are expected to announce today if any of those restrictions will be revoked or eased.
