Gabourey Sidibe gives a knockout performance as Claireece Jones, AKA Precious, an obese, pregnant, 16-year-old girl living with her abusive mother in Harlem in the ‘80s.

Adapted from the novel Push by Sapphire, and featuring comedian Mo’Nique and pop diva Mariah Carey both playing against type, the film will drain your heart but also fill it up again.
