Winchester Murder Case Set To Cost Government $30 Mill

The cost for the ACT Government to fund the famous Winchester murder case, is set to hit 30 million dollars.

The Territory Government has set aside 7.4 million dollars for the retrial of David Eastman in this month's budget - accused of killing police commissioner Colin Winchester in 1989.

Over 20 million dollars has already been allocated to the case from previous budgets.

Eastman spent 19 years in jail before his conviction was quashed in 2014 and a retrial was ordered.
