Canberra Raiders Centre Curtis Scott has been awarded more than $100,000 in legal costs after all assault charges against him by NSW Police were dropped.

He was tasered and pepper-sprayed by police when they found him sleeping under a tree.

At Downing Centre Local Court, Magistrate Jennifer Giles remarked he might have been safer if he wandered onto a roadway and got hit by a car.

NSW Police will have to pay all of his legal costs.
