ACT Policing has issued a blunt reminder to drivers about the dangers of speeding as two more drivers are booked for high range offences.

Both drivers were stopped on Majura Parkway in a section with a 100kmh speed limit.

The first driver was clocked at 142kmh and received a $700 fine and four demerit points.

A second driver was recorded driving at 123kmh and received a $489 fine and 3 demerit points.

Officer in Charge of Traffic Operations, Detective Inspector Marcus Boorman says he's heard every excuse in the book from speeding drivers.

But one claimed they hadn't been paying attention as they were feeling tired on a long trip from Sydney to the snow.

Inspector Boorman slammed the excuse as absolutely ridiculous.
