Canberra man to face court after driving at police

Category: Capital Radio News

A Canberra man will face court today, accused of deliberately reversing his car towards police officers and damaging a police vehicle.

Police say the 29 year old was trying to avoid being arrested when officers arrived at his unit in Ngunnawal on Saturday afternoon.

The man then allegedly attempted to flee the scene on foot after his car collided with the police vehicle and drove through an open carport, crashing into a fence.

He's facing seven charges, including the new Section 29A and 29B offences for driving at police and damaging a police vehicle.
