Canberrans told to stay home amid tougher restrictions

Category: Capital Radio News

The ACT will implement tougher restrictions from today to help slow the spread of COVID-19 in the territory.

Canberrans are now being told we should only leave the house to shop for essential supplies, access medical treatment, exercise, or go to work if absolutely necessary.

Playgrounds, skateparks, outdoor fitness stations and outdoor BBQs across the territory will all be closed in the coming days.

Any Canberrans caught flouting the new rules will be issued a warning in the first instance, but could face fines further down the track.
