The Chief Officer of the ACT Rural Fire Service has committed to giving local personnel the correct training, that will allow them to do urgent duty driving when responding to fires in Canberra.

It follows the news that the local service has been directed not to use lights and sirens when driving to fires.

Joe Murphy says ultimately the buck stops with him and the ESA.
