Category: Capital Radio News

ln police

ACT Emergency Services are warning a number of fires burning in surrounding regions could impact the Territory in coming days.

The Capital's Firefighters are on high alert as they brace for worsening conditions.

Temperatures tomorrow are forecast to reach as high as 40 degrees, with wind expected to make fires difficult to control.

The ESA is monitoring blazes surrounding the Canberra region which could make their way over the border, including the Dunn's Road fire, the Adaminaby Complex fire and the Atkinsons fire.

Ground and aircrews are on stand-by.

Canberrans are being warned to stay away from the Snowy Mountains region if possible and to have a bush fire survival plan at the ready.
