Fire upgraded to EMERGENCY level

The North Black Range Bushfire in the Tallaganda National Park east of Canberra has been upgraded to emergency level.

Fire activity has increased on the eastern side of the fire and is burning towards Bombay and Little Bombay.

Under the severe fire danger rating today, the fire will be difficult to control and may spread quickly.

Embers may blow well ahead of the fire which may threaten the areas of Bombay, Little Bombay and Forbes Creek.

Residents who are in the area and are not prepared are being advised to leave now towards Braidwood.

Further details will be provided as they come to hand.
