Man charged with arson following explosion in Chisholm

A Chisholm man will face court today, charged with arson and weapons offences.

Police were called to a home in Proctor Street yesterday afternoon, where they allegedly found the man alone inside, armed with a machete.

An explosion then occurred and the garage was set on fire, leaving two police officers with minor injuries.

The alleged offender was located at the Chisholm cricket oval a short time later, where he was arrested and charged with arson, possessing an offensvie weapon and assault occasionaing actual bodily harm.
